RESOURCES
For Cats in Southern California
In a medical emergency, an injured or sick animal should be taken to a veterinarian immediately. If you need financial or other aid to get an animal to the vet, please do not delay in seeking organizations to help.
HELP WITH VETERINARY EXPENSES
Urgent Medical Needs
We cannot guarantee what any organization may or may not cover. Various organizations operate differently. Some exclude cancer and some treat it. They may require documentation for income qualification. Upfront, make sure you understand the organization’s requirements and what they will and will not cover. They pay the vet directly, and do not reimburse for expenses that have already been paid. If your animal is sick or injured and you know you cannot afford a vet bill, don’t delay in reaching out to organizations that may help!

VCA Hospitals: Wellness Testing for Senior Cats
We’ve seen tragic cases where cats suffered in silence for a long time with an undiscovered illness, and by the time someone contacted us, the cat had already been permanently damaged by a treatable condition, or the pet’s condition was so advanced, the pet’s life could not be saved. Ask your veterinarian what tests should be done and at what age should they be done. Keeping it simple, the article below explains about wellness testing.
